If you don’t use the video in your strategy yet, you probably should implement it as soon as possible. The most recent statistics show that video content isn’t just effective, but also the demand for it is growing at an impressively rapid pace.

That’s why the team at Promo decided to look more closely at how, when and where people prefer to watch videos online. A study was conducted among over 500 people of all ages to gain insight into the behavior associated with their digital video consumption. Analyzing the results of the research, you can learn a lot about, among other things, which platforms are the most popular among viewers and how are consumers watching. Here are some key findings from the study:

  • People watch more video on Facebook than YouTube – 47% of people watch more videos on Facebook, while 41% do so on YouTube and only 8% on Instagram.
  • Facebook generates 8 billion video views per day.
  • Voiceovers and subtitles are both popular.
  • Stories are heating up.
  • 58% of viewers said they usually react to videos they watch online.
